Chang, Ping-Nan was born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1924. Taught by masters

 

Li Shin-Chao and Yeh Ho-Cheng, he won his first prize in the local contest

 

in 1948, started to be noticed in contests and exhibitions around Taiwan.

 

He traveled around Europe, but most of his works are landscapes of small

 

towns and country side of Taiwan, which indicates the artist’s love for his

 

hometown. Chang controls the lightness, shadow and the colors perfectly. 

 

The strokes are vividly and vivacious, expressing his genuine admiration to

 

an eternal wonderland, which also indicates the artist’s pure passion and   

 

enthusiasm towards art.
