Chen Tsing-Fang was born in Taiwan. In 1963, he received a scholarship from the French Government and thereafter studied in France, and completed an MA in French Contemporary Literature and a PhD in Art History at La Sorbonne (Paris). Since 1969, Chen started to promote Neo-renaissance, which later on became Neo-Iconography that he renowned for. Artworks have been selected into more than 300 textbooks and art related books, including “Arts & Ideas.” Throughout Chen’s art career, he has painted countless serial works. For example, “The Spirit of Liberty Series,” “Post – Van Gogh Series,” “Olympic Series,” and so on. Chen dedicates himself to art creation, writing, and communication between Eastern and Western cultures. His Neo-Iconography lights up art field, and successfully combines with social event and festival.
