Born in Chiayi, Taiwan, Chen Yi-Lang got in touch with art from learning wooden sculpture. His adopts works theme from real subjects, but present them with myriads of images and natural, free-minded sense.

Chen created a series work of word beast. He insists on following tradition, innovating new works, rather then merely copying from the Western. His creation not only presents three-dimensional visual effect of Chinese characters, but also makes them full of vitality.
