Born in Chiayi, Taiwan in 1948. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of National Taiwan Normal University. He has held several solo and group exhibitions and received many awards during his art career.

Chiu likes to deliver concrete idea through abstract style, which extremely uses abstraction to convey a deep, concrete feeling. He paints Western sketch and abstract painting, but he is always careful with brush skill and painting’s content.

His recent works are mainly pastel and oil painting. Shortcut brush and color blocks make his scenery express a flowing feeling of time.
