Dadang Christanto was born in Indonesia in 1957. He has a significant reputation internationally as well as in his own country. Now he lives in Brisbane, giving lectures at local art institutes and universities. After graduating from the Indonesia Institute of the Arts, Christanto started to put his artwork exhibited at major exhibitions.

For the past decade, all of Christanto’s creation is exploring social phenomenon and political issues that resulted from Indonesia and the whole world. He shows compassion toward what suffering human being has under gone, especially for those political victims. Among his various creation, including painting, sculpture, performance art and installation art, the latter two are the most famous genres for delivering his thoughts on human right, peace, and social justice.
