Duan Jun was born in 1983, and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Inner Mongolia Normal University. In his painting, the figure is combined with girl’s image in Cultural Revolution’s uniform as well as contemporary cartoon dolls. What he tries to interpret is people’s eagerness in going after fashion anytime, and the fact that group behavior deeply affects individual’s movement. The combination shows a co-existent feeling of past and present, bringing out an entertaining and comedy effect.
