Fan An-Xiang was born in Hubei Province in 1975, and graduated from Fine Art Department of Hubei Normal University. In 2004, he won “Award of Excellence” of 10th Hubei Art Exhibition. Fan’s artistic style is affected by Song Dynasty painting and comic, in which he tries to reason out a logic or thinking that responds to current environment and touches contemporary art. In fact, the empty atmosphere in Fan’s artwork comes from Song Dynasty painting for it is trying to probe a sense of loss that is hard to integrate through human’s inner world and outside condition. In all, such beautiful brushstroke expresses Fan’s painting skills, unique presentation builds up his own artistic style, and ultimately he creates a beautifully void, floating world on canvas.
